Ruth E. Morris, 96 , of Rindge, died at Pheasant Wood Center, on December 22, 2013 after a period of failing health. Ruth was born in Rindge on November 22, 1917 the daughter of Otto R. Koskela and Marie Elizabeth (Qvist) Koskela.
Ruth lived most of her life in Rindge where she made her livelihood as a chicken farmer with her husband, Leon. She loved all animals and had a natural gift in working with them.
Ruth is survived by her two sisters, Lucia Sirois of Dublin, Bertha Harris of Peterborough and her Brother Otto Koskela of Dublin.
She is predeceased by her loving husband G. Leon Morris, her brother Arthur R. Koskela and her two sisters Helen Kernoziky and Ida Lewandosky.
A visiting hour will be held on Thursday December 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH. A funeral service will follow at 2:00PM with the Reverend Betty Davis presiding. Burial will immediately follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sandhill Road, Peterborough, NH.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Ruth's name to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446, or Salvation Army, 15 Roxbury Plaza, Keene, NH 03431.
