Samuel Henry Pennington of Peterborough died unexpectedly on August 3, 2015. He was 20 years old. Sam was born in Peterborough on October 5, 1994, the son of Richard Pennington and Patrice (Terravecchia) Pennington.
Sam attended Peterborough schools and was a 2013 ConVal High School Graduate. While at ConVal he was an active member of the high school community with many friends and participation in many activities. He attended Clark University before spending six months in Australia with his Aunt Susan's family. Recently returned, he was about to continue school at the University of New England this September.
Sam was a very talented musician. He enjoyed playing the piano and writing music, and was a member of the Conval Band and Jazz Band. For several summers he also attended the Walden School Young Musicians Program, where he formed many lasting friendships. Sam was very funny, thoughtful, and much loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Along with his parents, Sam is survived by his two brothers, John Pennington and Michael Pennington both of Peterborough; his paternal grandmother Lucy Pennington of Asheville, NC; his maternal grandparents John and Catherine Terravecchia of Bedford, NH. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00AM at the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church, 25 Main Street, Peterborough, NH.
