Stella Marie Caponiti Staley

Peterborough- Stella Marie Caponiti Staley passed away on May 2, 2014 and is dancing with her beloved husband, Carl. Stella was born on November 11, 1921 in Washington, D.C. to Placido and Maria Caponiti, who immigrated to this country from Sicily in the early 20th century. Stella took great pride in her heritage and large family but insisted on being a thoroughly modern American woman. While working for the Department of Labor, Stella met the love of her life, Carl Wayne Staley, Sr. at a Catholic Church social. They were married on September 12, 1948 and were happily together for over 58 years. Stella's patient, kind, sweet heart and soul touched everyone she met. She is survived and adored by her sister Alice Sardone and brother-in-law Tony; her children, Michael Staley and daughter-in-law Susan, Diane Callahan and son-in-law Ken, Carl Staley and daughter-in-law Anne, Allan Staley and daughter-in-law Katie; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Stella was a devoted member of the Catholic faith and a Mass will be held on Thursday May 15,2014 at 10:00AM at St. Peter's Divine Mercy Parish, 18 Vine Street Peterborough, NH 03458.
