Suzanne-Martha Piper Chandler, born February 2, 1931 passed away peacefully at Scott Farrar at Peterborough on February 19, 2021, where she had been living since 2016. At Scott Farrar she enjoyed many special friendships and was an active participant in nearly every activity offered. Suzanne (Sandy) recently celebrated her 90thbirthday with 90 written memories provided by her family members, including her seven grandchildren, who all fondly remembered that she taught them to swim, gave them hot dogs for fish bait and made great peanut butter cookies!
Sandy was born to the late Frank and Marjory Richardson Piper in Framingham, Massachusetts. Sandy attended the University of Massachusetts and Tufts University, where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Sandy was employed by the Peterborough Transcript, ConVal Regional High School, Monadnock Region Association and New England College. She was a member of the Hillsboro Bird and Garden Club, Deborahs, Smith Memorial Church Choir, and Monadnock Indoor Tennis Club.
Sandy’s interests included sailing with her husband, Harvey, on Pierce Lake, stained glass, quilting and bridge. Harvey predeceased her in 2018.
Sandy is survived by her three children, Susan Chandler Ingalls and her husband, Charles, of North Carolina, Bradlee Chandler and his wife, Pamela, of Texas, and Janet Chandler Paige and her husband, Kevin, of Antrim, NH, in addition to the seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later date.
