Tegan Marissa Cohen, age 18, passed away unexpectedly on January 17 at her home in Greenfield, NH. Marissa’s parents are Helaine Hughes and Lynn Cohen and she was born on May 17, 2001 in Peterborough NH. She is a 2019 graduate of ConVal High School.
Marissa was a vibrant and passionate artist whose works expressed her feelings through beauty. She worked in many media including online prompts and challenges.
Her passion for art was the guiding force behind her efforts to start a career as a tattoo artist, where she could transform the ideas and dreams of clients into living art.
Marissa was active in her local autocross club, where she was enthusiastically learning the skills of competitive precision driving and enjoying the competition and her increasing skills at driving.
She was a beautiful and active teen who loved horseback riding and art and reading Manga and watching Anime. She enjoyed spending time with her cousins and family outings.
She was engaging and curious, persistent in pursuing what she wanted to explore and learning new things delighted her. She loved to talk about monsters and dinosaurs, autocrossing, Manga and art. She had great tenacity. She was insightful and fascinating to talk to and never afraid to share in conversation on courageous topics.
She showed her love for her family and friends in many ways; through artistic notes and surprise messages, sweet comments and shared smiles.
Marissa is survived by her mother and father, her brothers Riley and Baxter and sister Bailey, their mother Michelle Cohen, her grandmothers Joan Horner, Phyllis Hughes, her Aunts and Uncles Karl Hughes (Donna Metz), Jonatha Caspian (Laning Polatty), Adrienne Hughes (Roy Hopkins), Kate Hughes (Paul Schelling) Lori (Ken) Fujka, Lon (Barb) Cohen, Leigh (John) Maher, and her large clan of cousins.

A Remembrance Service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 beginning at 11:00 AM at the Peterborough Community Center, 25 Elm Street, Peterborough, NH.
