Antrim, NH Travis Abel Kierstead, 47, of Antrim, passed away unexpectedly, after a sudden illness, at his home on September 21, 2016. Travis was born at Monadnock Community Hospital on August 14, 1969, the son of Bruce Kierstead and Nancy (Cote) Kierstead. Travis was a lifelong resident of the Monadnock area. He worked for the Monadnock Paper Mill for 18 years and was a volunteer firefighter for the Antrim Fire Department. He was a devoted father and an avid outdoorsman, enjoying many activities with his son such as, hunting, fishing and trail walking. He was passionate about protecting the environment and was a member of the Harris Center for Conservation Education in Hancock. Travis will be remembered as a friendly and caring person, who helped others by contributing to organizations such as the local food banks and shelters. Travis is survived by his father Bruce Kierstead of Greenfield; his mother Nancy Kierstead and her husband Hanon Russell of Milford, CT; his son Tomas Kierstead of Peterborough; his brother Jaimie Kierstead and his wife Bambi of Dublin; his nephew Nicholas Kierstead and niece Lauren Kierstead both of Dublin; Tomas' mother Andrea Kierstead of Peterborough; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Antrim Town Hall, 66 Main Street, Antrim. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Harris Center for Conservation Education, 83 King's Highway, Hancock, NH 03449.
