Virginia May Rouleau

It is with great sadness that the family of Virginia May Rouleau announce her passing on December 31, 2022 at the Scott Farrar Nursing Home in Peterborough, NH. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia, who was called Ginny by her friends and family, was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts in 1934. She was the daughter of Edmond and Lena Veautour and was the loving wife of Robert R. Rouleau for 67 years. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Foskett (Wallace), Brenda Puente (Richard), Judith Robie (Robert), and Donna Eason (Glenn), and grandchildren, Jessica, Melissa, James, Michael, Christina, Sabrina, and Amanda, and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Jeanette, brothers Clifford and Edmond, son Stephen, and grandson Wallace.

Ginny was a loving and supportive wife and mother who devoted her life to her family. She kept a beautiful home and made every family event special. She especially loved Christmas and made the holiday season magical every year. She was an excellent cook and at Christmas, she and her husband Bob made the best lasagna her family has ever had. She had a talent for sewing and made many special matching outfits for her daughters when they were young, along with several beautiful prom gowns. Ginny enjoyed reading, especially Agatha Christie novels. She enjoyed playing cards and took lessons to learn to swim in her 70’s. She also loved to travel and took many wonderful trips and cruises, including a 50th anniversary trip with Bob, where they traversed the Panama Canal in a cruise ship. She also loved animals, and enjoyed several special pets, especially collie Lady Jane and cat Jean Claude.

After being a stay-at-home Mom for many years, Ginny went to work, first at a bank as a teller and assistant manager, and later as an office manager. With her excellent organizational skills and strong work ethic, she excelled at her jobs and her biggest challenge was turning down promotions as her family was always her main focus.

Ginny and Bob shared a “marriage made in heaven” for 67 years. Their great love and devotion to each other was an inspiration to all. They had fun, worked hard, and built a wonderful life together.

Arrangements will be handled by Jellison Funeral Home. There will be a private family memorial service.
